BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS

The Fire Department requires the Ford F-250 as a frontline response vehicle for Battalion 216 and it will respond to all battalion level emergency calls in the city. The Transit van will be used for logistics within the city and county between Fire Stations and hospitals, and to transport personnel for crew rotations on wildland fires. The vehicles will be upfitted to meet Fire specifications in accordance with Title 13 standards.

Both vehicles are being purchased through Olathe Ford under a government co-op Sourcewell account to provide the best pricing and availability.

Quotes have been obtained for the upfitting these vehicles and the purchases meet the requirements of City Code Chapter 28A.

FISCAL IMPACT
