RECOMMENDATION
title
Staff recommends that the City Council approve Amendment 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Trussell Technologies in an amount not to exceed $75,000, for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $525,000, for as-needed process optimization engineering services; and authorize the City Manager to execute the amendment.
body
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
On August 7, 2019, the City Council approved a professional services agreement with Trussell Technologies to provide plant optimization services. This agreement allowed the Water Utilities Department to access on-call water and wastewater experts when modifications and adjustments to the treatment processes were needed at any of the City’s treatment plants. Subsequently, when the Pure Water Oceanside (PWO) Project came online, it was determined that additional assistance with plant processes at the San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility (SLRWRF), related to Pure Water Oceanside operations, would be needed.
This amendment continues the assistance services required at SLRWRF related to PWO.
FISCAL IMPACT
Amendment 1 is projected to be a two-year amendment, or until the funds are exhausted, in an amount not-to-exceed $75,000, for a total contract value not-to-exceed $525,000, to continue services provided for PWO operational optimization. The amendment will be funded by the PWO Phase 2 project account 908142318715.5305.10600. Table 1 below outlines the expenses in the PWO Phase 2 project account.
