RECOMMENDATION
title
Staff recommends that the City Council approve Amendment 6 to the Public Works Agreement with Charles Doherty Concrete, in an amount not to exceed $60,000, for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $607,484, for as-needed concrete services; and authorize the City Manager to execute the amendment.
body
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
On June 17, 2020, the City Council approved a Public Works Agreement with Charles Doherty Concrete to provide asphalt and concrete repair services. This Agreement allows the Water Utilities Department to make major repairs that are too technical or beyond the capabilities of its own staff. Some of the work performed by Doherty Concrete are sewer line point repairs, concrete pads for generators, berm rehabilitations due to erosion, and road and sidewalk repairs due to repairing water line breaks. Currently, there are insufficient funds in the contract to meet the Department’s needs. Therefore, an amendment to the agreement is needed.
FISCAL IMPACT
Amendment 6 will be in the amount not-to-exceed $60,000 for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $607,484, to continue as needed concrete services for the City. The amendment will be charged to the Sewer Collections account 800803721.5320 which has a current balance of $448,568, and the SLR Major Plant Improvement account 909125500722.5702.10600, which has a current balance of $1,165,946, therefore there are sufficient funds.
