BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS

The Water Utilities Department San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility (SLRWRF) currently has three polymer blending units that are required to dewater solids at the treatment plant. The polymer units are at the end of their service life and spare parts for these units are no longer being manufactured.  Staff secured three quotes for polymer blending units. Misco Water was the lowest quote. The total cost, including tax and freight is $118,936.

FISCAL IMPACT

The cost for the three polymer blending units is $118,936 and will be charged to the SLR Major Plant Improvements account 909125500722.5704.10730. This account has an available balance of $1,718,930; therefore, sufficient funds are available.
