BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS

The Coastal Rail Trail (CRT) Project would complete the gap between the existing segments of the trail, north of Oceanside Boulevard to south of Morse Street. The improvements would include a pre-fabricated bridge over the Loma Alta Creek north of Buccaneer Park.

On April 5, 2017, the City Council approved a PSA with Dokken in the amount of $71,034 for a Project Study Report (PSR) and conceptual plans for development of the CRT Project from Oceanside Boulevard to Morse Street.

On May 6, 2020, the City Council approved Amendment 1 in the amount of $449,150 for the preparation of environmental documents and preliminary engineering for the CRT Project, including a grant writing task.

On April 14, 2022, Amendment 2 in the amount of $9,140 was processed administratively for additional grant writing services.

On May 17, 2023, the City Council approved Amendment 3 in the amount of $933,985 to complete the final construction documents, thereby advancing the project to a "construction-ready" status.
