TITLE: AMENDMENT 3 TO THE MARIPOSA LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR PARKWAYS, MEDIANS AND FIRE STATIONS

Staff recommends that the City Council approve Amendment 3 to the Landscape Maintenance Agreement with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc. (Mariposa), in the amount of $33,929, for a revised contract total amount of $1,726,488 plus a contingency of $15,000, for the inclusion of landscaping and irrigation maintenance services of Fire Station 9 and the former Chamber of Commerce site; and authorize the City Manager to execute the Amendment upon receipt of all supporting documents; and authorize the Financial Services Director, or designee, to execute the change order.

BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
On March 22, 2023, the City Council approved a comprehensive Landscape Maintenance Agreement with Mariposa to provide ongoing landscape and irrigation services for the City's medians, streetscapes, and fire stations. The agreement, which commenced on May 1, 2023, and extends through June 30, 2025, includes three optional one-year renewal terms. Subsequently, on May 21, 2025, the City Council approved Amendment No. 1 to incorporate Fire Station 1 into the asset inventory, reflecting the City's evolving operational needs and resulting in an annual cost increase of $16,261. Thereafter, in February 2026, Amendment No. 2 was executed administratively to account for a reduction in the scope of work at the Vista Way Phase 2 location, decreasing the annual compensation by $7,176 and aligning the contract value with current service requirements.
In November 2025, the City celebrated the opening of Fire Station 9, located within the North River Farms residential development, further expanding essential public safety infrastructure.
