BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS

In July 2022, staff solicited proposals for citywide carpentry services. Botsford was the lowest bidder and was awarded the contract. On September 28, 2022, the City Council approved a Public Works Agreement with Botsford, in an amount of $275,000, for a one year contract for as-needed Citywide carpentry services with three one-year renewal options with annual compensation adjustments. On June 26, 2024, the City Council approved Amendment 1 in the amount of $100,000 for additional carpentry services. In August of 2025, a renewal, in the amount of $320,930, for the third and final one-year renewal was completed. Since then, the need for additional carpentry services for Fire Station 4, in the amount of $176,500, have been identified. Fire Station 4 is currently in need of bathroom remodels to the staff, rear and Captain's restrooms. The original tile work, lighting, cabinetry and bathroom fixtures for this critical use facility are old and aren't functioning properly. Carpentry construction renovations are also needed.
